DESCRIPTION
The SCR series glazes are generally characterized by a mottled effect and can be used on both white and red biscuits, as well as on special substrates such as lava stone. They are perfect for accentuating bas-relief effects and engravings thanks to the different concentrations of color and mottles that result from variations in thickness. Product selection must take into account the expansion coefficient of the biscuit, its porosity, the firing cycle, and the type of kiln. When a mottled glaze is used directly on biscuits, it must be applied in a sufficiently thick layer.
Preparation – Application – Firing:
Dilute the glaze with water in the ratio of 1 kg of powder: 0.6 liters of water. Mix well and, after soaking for a few hours, sift before use. Before application, the biscuit must be fired at a higher temperature than the one used for the second firing. The application can be done carefully by dipping, making sure there are no drips. Airbrush application for professional use only. Firing temperature: 920–980°C
