DESCRIPTION The 231 crystalline glaze from the CRS series is transparent, with a glossy finish, preferably used on white biscuit. Perfect for accentuating the bas-relief effect and engravings. This crystalline glaze is a vitreous coating designed to make the surface of the ceramic object shiny and waterproof. The product must be used based on the expansion coefficient of the biscuit, its porosity, the firing cycle and the type of oven. This very transparent crystalline glaze is used for decorating directly on biscuit and must be applied in a sufficiently thick layer. Preparation – application – firing: Dilute the crystalline glaze using water, in the ratio of 1 kg of powder: 0.7 litres of water. After leaving to soak for a few hours (24 hours is recommended), mix well and sieve before use. If necessary, add water until the ideal density is obtained for the support to be used. All crystalline glazes can be mixed with each other and with white or coloured glazes. Neutral crystalline glazes, with small additions of colors or dispersible dyes, are ideal for customizing colored glazes. Before application, the biscuit must be fired at a higher temperature than the one used for the second firing. Application can be carefully done by dipping, ensuring that the layer is uniform throughout and that there are no drips. Airbrush application for professional use only. Firing temperature: 950–990°C.
